Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost you all you have, get understanding.-Proverbs 4:7

South Carolina

When the Cloyd's take a road trip, the front end of the day always presents so many possibilities.  (The backend typically presents everyone just wanting to be wherever the final destination is.)  I am the most willing to make random stops.  Ryan is the least.  He humors me.

Savannah River Wildlife Reserve

I remembered, this morning on the way out of town, we forgot to look for alligators.  I decided we should look.  We found three.  Hunting for alligators in the middle of swamp is harder than you would think (or harder than I was thinking?).  It requires a constant scanning.  Can you spot the three we found? (Hint: Pictures 2, 3 and 4.)

I also decided I need a better lens if I'm going to be photographing alligators.  :-)

See the bird?  He was showing off for us.

On the way down, we passed one field that had some unharvested cotton.  Ryan said he'd go back in that moment, but I told him we'd just look at it on the way back.  I think he thought I'd never be able to find that field again considering it was on some back road and could have been anywhere within a 200 mile stretch.  Ha.  I knew exactly where it was.  And, my kids deserve to know how cotton grows.

Of course we picked a branch off.  Mine is safely stowed in the glove compartment so I can take it to school to show the kids.  Of course, Jac picked his all apart to free the seeds.  Which means cotton is all over the backseat of the car.  What you should know is Ryan really LOVES some aspects of my version of good times.  ;-)

For real...what else is there to say about this?

Bonaventure Cemetery

Have I ever been anywhere this beautiful?  Europe, maybe.  But, in the U.S.?  I don't think so.

I could have spent all day in here and could have taken a million more pictures, but the end of "Happy Hour" at Sonic was rapidly approaching and that decided it.  True story.  Unfortunately.

Put visiting this place on your bucket list.

WOTY 2015

RESTORE.

I don't know how I feel about it.  Maybe, I don't feel anything about it.  My words of the year always take me somewhere unexpected and this one, without the knowledge it will probably hold a surprise until the end, comes with a lot of possibilities.
